Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the desktop application "kirinuki" (the "App") and this website (kirinuki.11gather11.com) handle user information. The App is a personal tool developed by the streamer Ryusei Igarashi (11gather11) to make Shorts and clips from the archives of his own live streams. The Japanese version of this policy is at /privacy/; both versions have the same content.

Use of YouTube API Services

The App uses YouTube API Services to upload the user's videos to the user's own YouTube channel, after the user signs in with their Google Account and grants permission.

• By using the App, users agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
• Information handled through YouTube API Services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
• The App asks users to agree to this Privacy Policy before they use its YouTube features.
• An upload happens only when the user has checked the destination channel and the content and started it. The App never uploads, deletes or edits videos automatically on the user's behalf.

Data we handle and how we use it

Data handled through YouTube API Services

• Google Account authorization (OAuth tokens): used to upload videos to YouTube on the user's behalf.
• YouTube channel information (channel ID and name): used so the user can choose and confirm the channel to upload to.
• The video to upload and its details (video file, title, description, privacy status): sent to YouTube exactly as the user decided on screen. The App never changes what the user decided without the user's consent.
• ID, URL and processing status of uploaded videos: used to record, in the workspace folder on the user's computer, which stream archive was uploaded as which video.

This data is used only for the purposes above (uploading to the user's own channel and keeping a record of it). We do not use it for advertising, sell it, or share it with third parties without the user's permission.

Data the App handles locally

• Stream archives (video files) provided by the user, and the transcripts, scene notes, highlight candidates, subtitles and exported videos the App makes from them.
• The App's settings and a log of AI calls (time, step, model used, token counts, estimated cost).
• API keys for the Gemini API and the Claude API are read from environment variables at run time and are never written to files or logs.

Where data is stored

The App runs on the user's computer. The developer operates no server and does not collect users' data. The App sends no usage telemetry, analytics or automatic error reports.

• OAuth tokens are kept in the operating system's credential store (Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows) and are never written to files or logs.
• All other data is stored in the workspace folder on the user's computer (~/kirinuki by default).
• Although the App stores the data above on the user's computer, it does not track users with cookies or similar technology, does not let third parties collect information from users' devices, and shows no advertisements.

Data sent to external services

The App sends data to the following services only when running a step the user started.

• YouTube (Google): the video to upload and its details (see "Data handled through YouTube API Services" above).
• Gemini API (Google): to make scene notes and subtitles, the App sends the URL of the user's YouTube video, the stream title, the streamer's name, and text such as transcripts. For some steps (watching a long video in one go), a record of the request is kept on Google's side until the result is collected. This is governed by the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
• Claude (Anthropic): to judge highlight candidates and write cuts and captions, the App sends text (scene notes, subtitles, excerpts of transcripts). No video or audio is sent. This is governed by the Anthropic Privacy Policy.

The App downloads speech recognition models, fonts and similar files from Hugging Face, GitHub and PyPI, but sends no user data when doing so.

How long data is kept and how to delete it

• OAuth tokens: kept until the user signs out or revokes access as described below. Signing out in the App immediately revokes the tokens and deletes them from the credential store.
• Data obtained from YouTube API Services (such as channel information): if kept for more than 30 days, it is refreshed from YouTube or deleted. It is deleted within 7 days after the user signs out, or after the App detects that access was revoked in the Google security settings. The App checks that its tokens are still valid when it uses them, and deletes this data if they can no longer be refreshed.
• Workspace data (including the IDs and URLs of uploaded videos): kept on the user's computer until the user deletes it. Deleting the workspace folder (or a stream's folder under streams/) removes all of it. The developer does not hold this data, so there is nothing to ask the developer to delete, but questions are welcome at the contact below.
• Deleting the App's data does not delete any data on YouTube. To delete videos uploaded to YouTube, use a YouTube application such as YouTube Studio. Data sent to the Gemini API and Claude is retained according to each service's policy.

Revoking access

Besides signing out in the App, users can revoke the App's access to their Google Account at any time from the Google security settings page (Third-party apps & services). After access is revoked, the App can no longer reach YouTube.

This website

This website uses no cookies and no analytics. Cloudflare, which serves the site, may process connection records (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect it.

Children

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, this page is updated and the "Last updated" date above is revised.
